Did you miss it? Your voice is still important -- so call TODAY!

Yesterday was the national day of action on child care! If you called your elected officials -- THANK YOU! If you missed it, that's okay! You can still make a difference.

Our friends from across the nation, including Child Care Aware of America, Child Care Works, NAEYC, CLASP, NWLC, NAFCC, NBCDI, YWCA, and ZERO TO THREE called in and we need your voice for Native children!

Even if you missed yesterday's national day of action, please take a few minutes today and call your representatives and request that the appropriations chairman increase funding for the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) by $1.4 billion in the FY 2018 appropriations bill.

Without this additional funding, states will not be able to fully implement the safety, health, and other reforms in the CCDBG Act of 2014 while maintaining the current number of children served. Congress needs to hear about the importance of funding direct child care assistance through CCDBG from voters like you!

The call only takes 2 minutes! Follow our step-by-step guide below:

  1. Find your representative.

  2. Call the Capitol Hill switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your Representative's office.

  3. Personalize the short script below:

If you connect with a staffer:

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent of Representative _______.

I’m calling because child care is an important issue for American families.

I know that April 6th is the deadline for Rep. _______ to make an appropriations request to the Chairman, and I’d like for him/her to prioritize an increase for child care.

Specifically, I hope Rep. _______ will ask for a $1.4 Billion increase in C-C-D-B-G, because child care helps parents go to work and helps children get the good start that they need.

Thank you for your time.

If you have to leave a message:

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent. I urge the Congressman/woman to ask for a $1.4 Billion increase in C-C-D-B-G before the April 6th Appropriations request deadline because child care helps parents work and children get the good start they need.

Make a difference for Tribal children and families and call today!

Thank you for all you do for our children, the future of our Tribal nations!
