In addition to our regular meeting, this year we have a number of special events open to our registrants. Some are free with your registration and some require an extra ticket cost. For those that require an extra ticket, you can purchase them at the time of your registration. Check out the special events below!
Special Sessions and Events
Reaching and Teaching Children Exposed to Trauma ($100) The pre-conference workshop will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn from nationally recognized early childhood development expert, Dr. Barbara Sorrels, who will share her knowledge on working with children who have been exposed to trauma.
Weaving Pathways to Meaningful Partnerships Recognition Ceremony This ceremony will honor programs that have identified and are using promising practices to weaving pathways to meaningful partnerships. Click here to nominate a program (or your own) here.
Hog Fry at Delaware Child Development Community Gardens ($35) The Delaware Child Development program will be hosting a traditional hog fry at Sunset Ranch to give attendees an opportunity to visit the gardens that help feed children at the DCD programs. Transportation, food, and entertainment are included in the cost. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to NICCA.
NICCA Cultural Event and Closing Reception (Additional tickets for family and friends, $25) NICCA will be hosting the Biennial Cultural Event and Reception. We will have special guests sharing their traditions through dancing and singing. Tickets for conference attendees are included in your registration fee. Extra tickets can be purchased during registration for family members and friends not attending the NICCA conference.
Muscogee Creek Nation Program Tour ($15) The Muscogee Creek National Child Care Program invites conference attendees to visit their center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to see their program and learn more about the services they provide to their children and families. Transportation is included in the cost of the ticket.
Delaware Child Development Program Tour ($15) The Delaware Child Development Program invites conference attendees to visit their center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and their community gardens at Sunset Ranch, 20 miles south of Bartlesville, to see their program and the garden that supplies fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to their centers. Attendees will have an opportunity learn more about the services they provide to their children and families.
Teach and Train – Daily Exercising (free) There will be organized opportunities to keep up your regular exercise routine (or start new ones) with friends in Tribal child care. Come and exercise and learn how you can share the fun of exercise with your programs! Free for all conference registrants.
Lakeshore Learning Reception (free) Lakeshore Learning will host a reception for all attendees. Please join them for light refreshments.
Lakeshore Learning Directors’ Luncheon (free for administrators and directors) Lakeshore Learning will host a luncheon for all directors and administrators in attendance at the conference. There will be no fee for attending and it is open to all directors and administrators.
